Paula Benson

I have lived in Manjimup for nearly 40 years, married to a local, worked at various business’s, owned hospitality business’s for 25 years. Began my own small art business several years ago, Benson Artworks. Am a great lover of all types of art, be they visual or other. I’m a naturally gifted, self taught painter, drawer, carver and like to try all sorts of different things to create, even if it means breaking “rules” and doing it my way – sometimes you discover a new way to do something that works for you. I love to see the look of joy on a person’s face when they look at something you have created. I like to think that I am on a journey of discovery about what art is to me. Since September 2021 am the Market Manager for Manjimup Farmers Market which entails using social media including fb and Instagram and also updating the Market’s web page on a weekly basis. This experience will help The Manjimup Arts Hub Inc. become known in the local and wider community.

Paul Fontanini

I am a Sculptor and Artist Blacksmith born in Manjimup in the Southwest of Western Australia in 1976 and also where I am now based. I studied Art and Design at Bunbury TAFE from 1992-1994 and a Diploma of Fine Art at the Western Australian School of Art and Design 1995-1996. I work with a variety of materials and techniques including metal, both forged and fabricated, from new and recycled material. I also use wood, cast aluminium, resin and recycled HDPE plastic in my works. I take inspiration from nature and organic forms and often like to contrast textures between natural and smooth machined, polished metal. My latest series of works titled "Casting with Nature" are exploring the use of nature itself as a mould to cast molten metals into.
